Bringing History to Our Future is a capital campaign to rehabilitate the Kinmon Gakuen building, the oldest historic building in Japantown. Established in 1911 by the Issei Generation (first generation Japanese), Kinmon Gakuen is the first and oldest Japanese Language School in California.

Join the Japanese Community as we rally together to launch this important campaign. Learn about our plans to rehabilitate the historic building to once again become a community resource for meetings, services, cultural and social activities, exhibits and performing arts.

With generous support from Assemblymember Phil Ting, the project was able to secure a large capital grant to allow us to kickoff our capital project. We have also been awarded a grant from the API Equity Fund administered by the Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development.

We are off to a great start but need your help to make it to full completion.

Please join us to learn more and get involved.

Refreshments and light appetizers will be served.
