Japanese Pianist Kotaro Fukuma Visits Kinmon Gakuen

On Friday, October 30, 2026, Kinmon Gakuen had the pleasure of welcoming acclaimed Japanese pianist Kotaro Fukuma to our historic school building.

Earlier that week, Mr. Fukuma performed a piano recital presented by the Japan Society of Northern California at Tateuchi Hall, located at the Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) in Mountain View.

Tateuchi Hall was made possible through a generous contribution from Mr. and Mrs. Atsuhiko Tateuchi, with the dedicated efforts of Nobuko Saito Cleary, a member of the CSMA Board of Directors who has played an important role in supporting Japanese cultural programs.

Mr. Fukuma’s visit to Kinmon Gakuen was made possible through connections with Nobuko Saito Cleary, a board member of both Kinmon Gakuen and the Japan Society of Northern California, and John Robinson, Kinmon Gakuen’s Fundraising Advisor, who introduced Mr. Fukuma to the school and its history.

During his visit, John Robinson and Kinmon Gakuen Board Member Junichiro Ikeda guided Mr. Fukuma through our historic building and auditorium, sharing the school’s history and its role in the Japanese American community.

We are grateful that Mr. Fukuma took time out of his busy schedule to visit Kinmon Gakuen and learn about our school and its history.

Our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Fukuma for his visit, Nobuko Saito Cleary for helping make this connection possible, and John Robinson and Junichiro Ikeda for welcoming and guiding our special guest!
